Some projects live far beyond the moment they are created. They grow, travel, and become part of culture. Mister Cartoon’s 1963 International Ice Cream Truck is one of those projects.
Built over a decade ago, the Ice Cream Truck was never meant to be just a vehicle. It was a rolling canvas. Candy paint layered by hand. Murals reflecting 1990s fashion, people, and street fantasies. Wire wheels, chrome details, and lowrider attitude all brought together through years of work and personal history.
Every panel told a story. Every detail mattered.
Over time, the Ice Cream Truck became one of Mister Cartoon’s most recognized builds. It has been displayed at the MOCA Museum and the Petersen Automotive Museum, rolled into SEMA 2025 at Rockford Fosgate’s booth, and featured by DUB Magazine, among many others. Each appearance reinforced its place as a cultural icon rooted in custom car culture and street art.
Bringing the Truck to Life in RC Form
Turning the Ice Cream Truck into an RC was never about making a shortcut version. It was about respecting the original.
What followed was a multi year collaboration between Mister Cartoon, Redcat Racing, and Toons Mart, focused on one goal. Make it feel as close to the real truck as possible.
Every detail was covered. The paint. The murals. The trim. The visor. Even the bobblehead. If the original truck had it, the RC needed it too.
The result is a fully functional 1:10 scale Ice Cream Truck RC, complete with real movement, working headlights, hydraulics, and a chrome plated chassis and interior. This is not a toy. It is a precision built collector piece made for people who understand why authenticity matters.
Built with Redcat Racing
To achieve that level of realism, Mister Cartoon partnered with Redcat Racing, a brand known for engineering high performance RC vehicles. Their expertise made it possible to translate lowrider culture into RC form without losing the soul of the original build.
This project was about craftsmanship, not mass production.
A Collector Release at Toons Mart
The Ice Cream Truck RC is released through Toons Mart as part of the Collector’s Series Edition for the first delivery, with a second delivery to follow through Redcat Racing. The first collector series includes an exclusive bobblehead paperweight, packed in the box to commemorate this special project.
This release is limited. One time only. No restocks.
For collectors, this is more than an RC. It is a piece of Mister Cartoon’s legacy, recreated with care and intention.
This first collector's series includes an exclusive bobblehead paperweight as a bonus gift in the box to commemorate this special project.
Investing in Custom Culture
The Ice Cream Truck has lived many lives. From the streets to music videos, from magazine features to major car shows. Bringing it into RC form was about preserving that history and sharing it in a new way.
As Mister Cartoon puts it, this is about investing in custom culture.
And now, that culture rolls again.
